Use a clean plastic container/beaker (never glass or previously used chemical containers). Rinse it 2–3 times with pool water.
Collect the sample from a a location furthest from pool inlet points – preferably the deep end away from inlets/return jets, skimmers, walls, steps, ladders, and surface film.
Submerge the container upside-down to elbow depth (~30–45 cm / 450 mm below the surface), then turn it upright underwater to fill it smoothly. This avoids surface contaminants and air bubbles.
Take the sample immediately before chemical testing. For high-bather-load or high-risk pools, sample from multiple points throughout the day.
Sampling Technique – Palin or Lumiso Test unit
Rinse the photometer test tube and any accessories with a small amount of the pool sample.
Fill the test tube to the exact marked volume with the collected sample (Note: volume matters, be accurate).
Zero the instrument with the untreated pool water sample.
Add the correct reagent/tablet (e.g. XF for free chlorine, XT for total chlorine, phenol red for pH, etc.).
Crush/mix the tablet completely and wait the exact reaction time stated in the manual (usually 10-120 seconds; do not exceed).
Place the test tube in the photometer, use the lid, and read the result.
Record parameters tested and the results on your daily water testing log sheet.
Select Water Source (Pool) and the correct Disk Series (matches the SpinDisk packaging).
Remove a fresh SpinDisk from its packaging (do not touch top or bottom of the disk).
Fill the syringe with the pool sample. Hold syringe vertically and inject the exact volume into the disk’s central chamber on a clean, dark, dry surface (avoid large air bubbles; disk should not be over- or under-filled).
Do not fill the disk while it is in the meter.
Place the filled disk on the hub, cover with the Universal Disk Cover, close the lid.
Tap Start Test on the touchscreen. The unit spins automatically (30 seconds for 3-parameter disks, ~60 seconds for 10-parameter disks) and reads all results.
Record parameters tested and the results on your daily water testing log sheet.
