Community Aquatics delivers its effective swimming and water safety program using student centered discovery teaching methods with high student activity.
Our programs is delivered by qualified Instructors that establish positive and supporting environments at each lesson, that in-turn build upon each other to create seamless pathway from non-swimmer to competitive water sports, or to create lifelong enjoyment of recreational water activities.
Community Aquatics Swimming and Water Safety “5 Stages of Progression” Chart
Stage 1 Classes involve introducing babies or children under 3yrs to the water in safe and supporting environment.
Stage 1 Classes is about preparation and laying the AWARENESS foundations for future learning experiences.
Stage 2 Classes involve the introduction of independent buoyancy, rotation, underwater skills and movement in water.
Stage 2 allows the learner to develop skills and competencies with greater independence from the Instructor. The Learner will develop greater levels of self-awareness and CONFIDENCE.
Stage 3 Classes involve the significant development of basic freestyle and backstroke movements.
Stage 3 Classes involves activities over greater distances and leaving the arms reach of the Instructor, using their own COURAGE in the process.
Stage 4 Classes are where the learner’s development really begins to take shape across all four swimming strokes.
Stage Classes involve greater distances and the learner reinforces basic swimming strokes through ACTIVE repetition.
Stage 5 Classes are our final swimming development classes. This is where the Learner is introduced to a min-squad environment and the principles of being coached.
The Swimmer is required to develop body STRENGTH in order to continue developing advanced strokes and related skills, including butterfly, training drills and competition starts/ turns.
